No Cause of Death Announced

Son Says "Millions Have Lost a Friend"

After more than seven decades on the air, legendary radio broadcaster Paul Harvey has passed away at the age of 90. According to his son, Paul Harvey Jr., Harvey died surrounded by family at a hospital in Phoenix, where he had a winter home.

The cause of death has not been announced. However, Harvey had been forced off the air for several months in 2001 due to a virus that weakened his vocal cord. He had returned to work in 2003.

Harvey's son said, "Millions have lost a friend." He added, "He had less than two years left on his ten." This is a reference to Harvey's famous sign-off, "Good day, and good night." Harvey began his career in radio in 1933 and became a household name with his folksy speech and plain talk. He was known for his conservative views and his support of the military.

Harvey worked for ABC Radio Networks for more than 50 years. His broadcasts were heard by millions of people around the world. He was a recipient of numerous awards, including the Presidential Medal of Freedom.
