The South Sudan men's national basketball team has made history by qualifying for the 2023 FIBA Basketball World Cup. This marks the first time the team has qualified for the tournament. The Qualifiers ran from November 2021 to February 2023, with five African national teams earning a spot in the World Cup. South Sudan started its campaign in February 2022 and went undefeated in its group, winning all six games.
